Jack Harris, M.D.
Dr. Jack Harris grew up in Temple, Texas. He had severe asthma and allergies as a child, which led him to choose medicine as a career. After high school, he attended Texas A&M University, College Station, and graduated with summa cum laude honors in 1978. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He underwent residency training in pediatrics at The University of Texas Teaching Hospitals in San Antonio from 1981 to 1984. Dr. Harris completed a fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1986. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology.
Dr. Harris is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He is also a member of the Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology society as well as the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Harris began his allergy practice in 1986 by joining Allergy Clinic, P.A. in Tyler, Texas. He, along with his partners, opened a branch office located in Longview, Texas that same year. He currently sees patients of all ages in both the Tyler and Longview clinic locations. In 2001, Dr. Harris received a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler.
Dr. Harris married Jean Wise in 1981. She is currently working as a nurse practitioner for Cardiovascular Consultants in Tyler. They have twin daughters, Kate and Sara, who are both currently in graduate school at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Harris enjoys playing piano/keyboards with several bands in the East Texas area.
